Day 9 - Crossings

Tuesday, November 27, 2007

wx- winds NW 10-15, seas fair, predominant south swell, long period, on the beam. Visibility unlimited

Second day of crossing from Baja to the mainland of Mexico. We have confirmed that when running at 1300 rpm we can save almost 20% on fuel, extending our passages to almost 8 days. This region is known for a strong Northerly this time of year. We’ve been fortunate so far. Weather is warming up and I anticipate running at least to Acapulco before fueling again. Maybe El Salvador.
