Going back in the water has been the first major landmark day since purchasing her. After taking care of bottom, upgrading to new Dometic  fresh water heads, the remainder of tasks are rather minor and cosmetic.  Nothing stands in the way of getting underway. She can go any time.  So the next few months will be a mix of cruising and projects. Either way, my life has changed, and it's going to be adventurous and fun.

GOOSE is a 1975 Grand Banks Classic 42. She weighs in at 35,000 lbs. (17 tons.) and is powered by two John Deere AMMARINE 404's.

Hull number 428 was built up during the initial transition from wood to fiberglass at the American Marine Yard in Hong Kong. I have a long way to go in restoring her but when complete, she will be a proper yacht.

The interior is all teak.  From the teak parquet floors throughout, to the cabinetry, and helm station,  everything is 100% teak.  I have a number of projects going on inside and they will take time. However, it's all very livable as is.

It's a seriously safe boat, with 2" thick glass in the keel.  A "go anywhere" trawler with over 200 gal. fresh water and 400 gal. of fuel. The boating season is only a short few months away.  Go to the GOOSE gallery for more pictures.
